CV

I create highly personal and intimate work, centering around ideas related to imagination, desire and the integration of art into daily life. I am drawn to the whimsical. Fashion, architecture, history and the observation of human behavior inspire my work. I studied ballet for 15 years before pursuing a BS in architecture at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. While working towards a degree, I spent a year in France, where I studied at the Ecole d'Architecture de Versailles. Subsequently I returned to the performing arts to begin a career in film design where I worked as an art director and production designer for several feature films. Designing films helped me learn to express mood and emotions through color, character expression and storytelling. I currently live in Chicago, and incorporate all of these previous experiences into my artistic practice through the manipulation and transformation of materials.
